Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has begun trial operations of the world’s first electric abra made with 3D printing, in collaboration with the private sector. This 20-passenger abra retains the traditional design and supports Dubai's 3D printing strategy by reducing manufacturing time by 90% and costs by 30%. It features an 11-meter monocoque structure, electric propulsion, and lithium batteries. Manufactured by Al Seer Marine with global partners, it will be tested on the Sheikh Zayed Road Marine Transport Station.
